What does “independent spirit” mean??
It was in the Federalist Paper…..something about judges needing “independent spirit”.

In that context, “independent spirit” would most likely refer to a judge needing to be above other people’s influence. They need to be able to be independent and make up their own minds without relying on other people’s opinions or making decisions based on what someone else wants.
