What are some common compounds or molecules formed with the element gold?

It’s for a science project, and one of the requirements is:

Identify common compounds or molecules this element naturally forms

and my element is gold, and suggestions on common compounds or molecules? Please?

Sorry, there are no common compounds of gold for two reasons:

o Gold is quite rare in the Universe and on Earth.

o Gold is fairly inert (‘noble’) and forms few compounds.

That said, gold does form a few rare compounds, such as AuCl3. Since the oceans are vast, the tiny amount of Au compounds in sea water still add up to a substantial amount, and the high price of gold may make recovery from sea water feasible.

Gold does readily form alloys: while alloys do not have the definite proportions of most compounds, to an extent they are more similar to compounds than to mixtures.

An element consists of only its own atoms while a compound consists of two or more element’s atoms. For example, Hydrogen and Oxygen are elements while water (H2O) is a compound.
