Math help due by 12pm!?

1. Write the equation of the line whose slope is 5/9 and passes through the point (-4,3).

Write the final answer in the slope-intercept form y = mx + b.

Use fractions, as necessary

2. Write the equation of the line passing through the points listed below. Write the final answer in the slope-intercept form y = mx + b. If the slope (m) or the y-intercept (b) are not integers, fractions must be used.

(-1, 4); (7, 2)

3.Write an equation of the line that contains the point A and is parallel to the line given below.

Write the final answer in the slope-intercept form y = mx + b. Use fractions for slope and y-intercept, as needed.

A = (-3, 0)

-4x + 2y = 17

4.A line passes through the origin and the point (-9, 4).

Write the equation of the line that passes through (-9, 4) and is perpendicular to the given line.

Write the final answer in the slope-intercept form y = mx + b.

(The slope and y-intercept must be written as fractions, when needed).

Im not going to give you the answer, but intead ask your teacher if you do not understand something, that is what they are there for. If I were to tell you the answer you would have learned nothing, because you don’t know the steps to take. And it would be considered CHEATING. there is a difference between help and giving someone the answer. Sorry

1. use (y-y1) = m(x-x1)

which means: y-3 = 5/9 (x- -3)

9(y-3) = 5(x+3)

Solve this to get the answer

2. use the equation (y-y1)/(y1-y2) = (x-x1)/x1-x2

(y-4)/4-2 = (x+1)/-1-7

Solve this to get the answer

3. solve of the 2nd line is -4x+2y = 17

2y = 17+4x which is y = 17/2 + 2x

slope for the equation y = mx+b is m which is the number preceding x. In this case 2.

now use the 1st equation y-y1 = m (x-x!) and substitute these values to get the answer.

4. Same as 2 your x1 = 0 x2 = -9

y1 = 0 and y2 = 4
