Recall the following trigonometric identity:
sin^2(x) + cos^2(x) = 1
(Regardless of the ‘x’ value)
Therefore,
sin^2(π/10) + cos^2(π/10) = 1

Yep it’s 1. It could be Sin^2(apple)+Cos^s(apple) and it would still equal 1.
