Is there a difference between workplace harassment and harassment outside the workplace? What about negative reactions to harassment laws when they first came out? Or male harassment by females? Penalties for harassment and how they’ve changed? How does the issue of sexual harassment fit into the larger picture of individual rights and/or feminist theory? Also don’t forget to be thorough about each topic you discuss. Make sure you come to a conclusive statement in each section which will answer the readers “So what?” question. Teachers hate to read light summaries of a bunch of topics that are not bound by a strong central theme. Think of what it is you really want to say about the issue of workplace harassment.

Look for interesting stats and figures that you could turn into a table, graph, or pie chart. Possibilities could be: cases broken down into types of jobs, male to female ratios or hetero vs. homosexual, increases/decreases in complaints in the last “x” years, etc. Adding a couple of visuals, labeling and citing them correctly, and then adding them to your points will help.
