As for your topic, you should choose something that interests you and something you want to learn about. Maybe click on some news stories, and see which ones you read all the way through. You don’t want to get stuck with a topic you don’t care about.

Let’s assume it’s shopping. You could write a paper about the process of how it starts to where it ends up – like using workers in third world countries. You could write about the evolution of the purse – where did purses come from? You could even have an attachment (maybe if teacher allows) of diagrams of old purses you refer to.

The key is (1) write about what interests you and (2) write about what you think your teacher won’t be bored reading. They’ll thank you when grading.
