Solve for n?
1/(n+7) – (2n-1)/(4n^2+31n+21) = 1/(4n+3).
I got 5, but I think I did the wrong thing to the 31n.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Factor the quadratic. The common denominator is (4n+3)(n+7).
Multiply each term by the common denominator and cancel.
You should get (4n+3)-(2n-1)=n+7
Work that out for n. n=3
