Pay when they hand it to you. I tip a buck or so at each time they give me a drink to ensure that they pay attention when it’s time for another drink.

You pay by the drink with cash or if you have a credit/debit card you can run a tab but the bar has special rules about that sometimes. If you’ve got a spot that you’re going to be sitting at for a while tip the waitress atleast the price of one drink to start to keep her coming back. After that give her about a dollar an order. That trick works on the bartender too.

It depends. If you’re running a tab, you pay at the end of the night. Generally, if they don’t know you, they’ll ask to hold onto a credit card.
There are no specific rules about tips, although 15% or so is considered reasonable. You don’t have to tip anything at all, but it really isn’t smart to tic off the bartender.
