1.) Find the slope and y-intercept of the line Ax + By = C

2.) Use Algebra to fidn the domain and range of the function

f(x)= 2/ x- 2

Ax + By = C

Subtract Ax from each side:

By = C – Ax

Divide by B:

y = -(A/B)x + (C/B).

The slope is -A/B, and the y-intercept is C/B.

f(x) = 2 / (x – 2)

can be evaluated for any x except x = 2, which makes the denominator zero.

That gives domain (-infty, 2) U (2, infty).

The equation can be transformed into

x = [ 2 / f(x) } + 2

This is valid everywhere except where f(x) = 0.

That gives range (-infty, 0) U (0, infty).
