No, because if an economy weakens, the currency tends to weaken, causing people to want to invest in that specific country. It’s an economic balance, so to speak.

Yes, because different currencies are a boundary and an added cost to trade. It costs money to change currency. Europe realized this, and eliminated the different currencies between the countries. This facilitated travel and trade between small countries with a common economic goal.
