1 / (2x) = 7 / 8
Multiply by 8x:

(1 / 2)x = 7 / 8

Where is the x? Is it next to the fraction or on the bottom of the fraction?
NEXT: Just divide both sides by 1/2. This is the same as multiplying by the reciprocal (flip it). So, Multiply both sides by 2/1, which is 2. Left side: 2*(1/2x)=x.
Right side: 2*(7/8)
Don’t forget that when you multiply fractions, go stright across. So, multiply the 2 by the top/ 2*(7/8)=14/8=7/4.
x=7/4
If x is on the bottom, add the details, and I’ll change my answer!
