please help with math…10 points?

find the slope-intercept form of the line passing through the point (-1,-3) and parallel to the line y=2x+3.

one more

write the standard form of the equation of the line with slope -4 passing through the point (3,2)..

thanks in advance

well slope has to be 2. plug in the points. & you get y=2x-1

now you have the slope so once again plug in the points to y=mx+b.

you get y=-4x+14

hope i helped you

y=2x-3 because in order for the equation y=2x+3 to be parallel to the point (-1,-3) the slope has to be the same. so that gives you y=2x then it has already given you the y intercept which is -3. You just simply plug it in and you have y=2x-3. Graph it if you want to make sure its parallel to y=2x+3.

your formula you would use on your 2nd question you have just asked is y=mx+b. m equaling the slope an b equaling the y intercept. they already gave you the slope which is -4 so, so far you have y=mx+2. Now plug in the slope in M. you will get y=-4x+2 that is your answer

the first one you have 2x+3 and the slope is 2 since the other equation is parallel then it has the same slope 2 and you have y=2x+b then you plug in the point they gave you and you get -3=2(-1)+b then you get -3=-2+b move -2 to other side adding 2+-3=b then you get -1=b so the new equation is y=2x-1

next problem

y=mx+b Ax+By=C

plug in what you need

2=-4(3)+b

2=-12+b

14=b so… y=-4x+14

standard from take -4x to other side you get

4x+y=14
