please help me on this math?
1. M is the midpoint of AB
Find the coordinates of B given A(4,-2) and M(4,7).
A) (4, 2.5)
B) (0, -4.5)
C) (-1.5, -3)
D) (4, 16)
2. M is the midpoint of AB
Find the coordinates of B given A(3,8) and M(5,4).
A) (-1, 2)
B) (7, 0)
C) (4, 6)
D) (3.5, 6.5)
3. Theres a baseball diamond. If a player throws the baseball from 2nd base to home plate, how far does he throw it?
2nd base is (90,90) and home plate is (0,0)
A) 90Feet
B)45 square root 2feet
C) 180 Feet
D) 90 square root 2 feet

Lets plug that in.
Add the two x’s. You get 8. 8 / 2 is 4. There! x is solved!
(4,y)
Ok, now lets do the y. -2 + 7 is 5, 5/2.. Lets just leave it as is. So we have:
(4, 5/2)
If you divide 5 by 2, you get 2.5. Therefore, the answer for #1 is A.
2. Do the same way we did it last time. (3 + 5)/2 is 4. x is solved.
(4,y)
Lets do the y now. (8 + 4)/2 is 6. Therefore, the midpoint is
(4,6)
In other words, B.
3. Here we will use the distance formula. The distance formula is root[(x1 + x2)^2 + (x1 + x2)^2)]
Lets plug the numbers in. If you simplify it, it’s root(90^2 + 90^2). Since both of them have a squared sign on them, we can make this a lot simpler and add them. You get root(180^2). Take away the squared and the root and you get 180, which is answer C.
X remains the same, but the Y increases by 9.
Since m is in the middle, B must be another 9 points higher, while still on the same X
So, (4, 16)
Same thing for 2
The x has increased 2, while y has decreased 4.
So, (7, 0)
First off, when they give you multiple choice, you can alway plug in the answer to see if it fits.
You know that if he were to throw it only 90 feet he couldn’t reach home (90ft becomes rou radius and while 1st abse and 3 base rest on the circle, HP does not.
Same elimination of the 180 ft answer, the radius is too big now, and it doesn’t say he threw it to 3rd and then to HP (90 ft on each trip).
However, by now in you mathmatical life you’ve probably heard the saying “A squared + B squared = C squared” for a right triangle. And what do we have here? Half of a diamond would still contain a right angle, so this little ditty applies.
So solve for C
c = Sqrt (90^2 + 90 ^2)
c = Sqrt (16200)
c = 90(Sqrt (2))
