Food can be stored and used to the quantity we want rather than prepare more more and then waste it. Same with fruits and vegetables which if not used become spoiled and wasted. Adding earth worms to it will turn it into beautiful manure which is very good for plants. Also if you have more wastage then you gab generate bio gas (methane) which can be used for cooking, lighting etc.

Oil can be saved by the purchase and use of small economical vehicles which consume less fuel and also one car per family and also by availing public transport.

Electrical energy can be saved from wastage by using CFL lamps, reducing Air conditioners temperatures, using sunlight more, allowing better ventilation, using solar power etc.

Whatever land you are having can be used to cultivate some vegetables, trees etc and help in nature and also manage your own kitchen requirements etc.
