When marketing online, many of the geographic boundaries disappear. How would this change your marketing philosophy. Can you use an example of what some companies use?

You have to be careful that a word, phrase or image won’t be misinterpreted or cause offence to someone in another country. For example, Pepsi had a slogan of ” Come alive with Pepsi” which was translated into ” Come out of the grave with Pepsi” in either Japan or China ( I think). Also, if you use an image of a woman in a bikini to advertise a product, it might not go down too well in an Islamic country. Also, Mitsubishi had a model called the Pajero which roughly translates into masturbator in Spanish. Chevrolet had the Nova which translates (Spanish?) into ” won’t go”. Hope this helps!
