Sweety, this math is simple math. If you’re having difficulties, ask for help on HOW to figure the equations out. Believe it or not, you do have to face this math in everyday life. Mark my words, if you don’t take the time to learn now, you’ll look back and regret.
I’ll do the first 2 (how to do them) and then you should be able to get the other 2.
::ONE:: First, you want to get the variable by itself (in this case, 6m). You need to remember to keep things equal. So if you ADD 4 to the left side, you’ll need to ADD 4 to the right side.
6m – 4 = 14
+ 4 = +4
*It’s best when writing these equations on paper, to keep things lined up (write the “+4” directly under the “-4” – it helps to keep the problems straight.
Then, the equation will read:
6m = 18
Now, you’ll want to get “m” by itself. You can do this by dividing both sides by 6.
6m/6 = 18/6
You are left with the answer to your first equation: m = 3.
Remember also to check your equation to see if your answer works. You can do this by plugging in your answer to the original equation:
6(3) – 4 = 14
18 – 4 = 14
14 = 14
*If the numbers did NOT equal, you should go back through and double check your math to make sure you didn’t make a careless mistake somewhere. Don’t worry, it happens to everyone sometimes.

::TWO:: Again, make sure things stay equal.
(t /4) – 3 = 9
First, you’ll want to add 3 to both sides.
(t/4) – 3 = 9
+3 = +3
Your equation will now read:
(t/4) = 12
Now, you’ll need to get “t” by itself. What is the opposite of division? Multiplication. So multiply both sides by 4.
(t/4) * 4 = 12 * 4
You are left with your final answer: t = 48
Remember to check your equations:
(48/4) – 3 = 9
(12) – 3 = 9
9 = 9
– – – – – – – – – – – – – –
I hope this helps. I know it’s a lot, but I really don’t like “doing” everyone’s homework. I always do the first one…including steps on how to do the problems. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask 🙂
2.) t = 48
3.) x = -35
4.) p = 7
5.) x = -12
2)t=48
3)x=-35
4)p=7
5)x=-24
but, if you can’t do simple math like this, i suggest getting help from your teacher before the work gets harder…
