Trees are biology by the definition of biology. Geology has a branch called Historical Geology where one might study a fossilized or living tree to determine earth conditions like rainfall, climate etc. All branches of science are inner-connected in ways like this.

I know that you went to this source. But I think if you go back and read the long explanation you will understand what I’m saying.
