jake invited 11 of his friends to his birthday party at a pizza parlor
each pizza was cut into 12 pieces. each child ate 1/4 of a pizza. how many pieces did each child eat?

the statement:
jake invited 11 of his friends to his birthday party at a pizza parlor
is irrelvant to the answer, its there to try and throw you off.
so 12 pieces times 1/4 is three.

12/4=3, each kid ate three pieces. If a pizza is cut into 12 pieces, and each kid ate 1/4 then 1/4 of each pizza is equal to 3 pieces of pizza.
