Need help with Latin words.?

My fiancee is having trouble with her Latin homework. She needs to know what this word means. I think it is a conjugated form of dare and I am basing that of of the spanish verb dar (to give) the word is “da” but the a has two little dots above it. Thanks

Da is the second person singular IMPERATIVE of TO GIVE.

In otherwords, it’s like saying to someone: Give!

The two dots aren’t really in Latin. Some books use them as a pronunciation guide

the teacher probably didn’t know how to make a macron. That is a line over the a, to show that is long. Does “give” (the command) fit the sense of the sentence?
