“Bond speculators” are simply people who buy or sell bonds on the speculation that their prices will go up or down. Speculators can sell or buy “futures” that are promises to buy or sell a certain bond sometime in the future. For example, I can sell you the right to buy from me $1 million worth of bonds for delivery on December 1, 2007.
“The Indian Removal Act” was pushed through both houses of Congress by Andrew Jackson in 1830 in order to clear Southern lands in the US for whites to occupy and to farm. It forced the indigenous tribes there to move to designated lands west of the Mississippi, or to fight.
