you can probably read some discussions about the movie Gattaca online, but id say that the personal identity is explored throughout the movie because the main character is born “flawed” because he wasnt genetically made…he goes out of his way to chase his dream of going into space, even going through excruciating pain to make his legs longer so that he can impersonate someone else who was perfect…in many ways it relates to the way people are these days with plastic surgery and lipo and all the cosmetic things we do to our bodies to fit in…but like the movie in the end someone loves him for him even if he is flawed…so the basis of the movie is to not let anything stop you no matter how you are differnet, accept yourself and do what it takes to make your dreams come true.

it mostly talks about genetic engineering and not trusting on your own body to make you who you are. it’s a great movie- explores who we are and what we can do about it to make ourselves different, but the mistakes that even WE can make controlling those.
