When writing fractions online, try to use () around the fractions for clarity. I’m assuming this problem would be:

(x-1/1) – (x-2/1)

Two fractions with the same denominator: 1

Any fraction where the denominator is 1, you can ignore the demoninator. 1/1 = 1, 2/1 = 2, etc..

Your problem simplified is:

x-1 -x -2

x – x -1 -2

(the x’s cancel out)

-1 -2

-3
