ordered pairs

help

ok my teacher

assaigned me this and i dont get it

so i just need one of each worked so i can follow as an

example please and thank u.

1~

determine wether the pair given is a solution of y= 5+3x

(1,8)

determine wether the pair given is a solution to

y+4x-1

(0, 1)

Mrs.Frank has 150 customers when she began hey delivery route. each month she adds 5 new customers. the equation that gives the total number of customers, t, in her route is

t= 150 +5m, where m is the number of months

since she began the route. how many costumers will mrs. frank have after 12 months.?

plz and thank u!

They’re called “ordered pairs” because first off there’s a pair of numbers and secondly the order makes a difference. In this case, the first number is always x and the second is always y. When you’re given the ordered pair (1, 8), that’s the same thing as telling you that x = 1 and y = 8. Plug them into the equation and see if it works:

y = 5 + 3x

8 = 5 + 3(1)

8 = 5 + 3

8 = 8, and it works.

Do the same thing with the second problem (which, I suspect, should be y = 4x – 1)

For the third one, you have to plug in 12 for m (the number of months) and figure out t.

t = 150 + 5m = 150 + 5(12) = 150 + 60 = 210

Hope that helps.

remember PEMDAS. this is key in determining the thank you to simplify equations… (and likewise remembering which you will in effortless terms combine like numbers (numbers with numbers, variables with variables) Parenthesis Exponents Multiply Divide upload Subtract question a million: 4x+8=3(x+8) Simplify the parenthesis: 4x+8 = (3*x)+(3*8) 4x+8 = 3x+24 4x = 3x+24-8 (subtract 8 from the two sides) 4x = 3x+sixteen 4x – 3x = sixteen (subtract 3x from the two sides) x = sixteen question 2: 2y+ x/2 = 7 – considering the fact that this could be a linear equation there will be lots of solutions. the least complicated thank you to is to make one variable a nil and resolve for the equation. One achievable answer could be: 2y + 0 = 7 y = 7/2 y = 3.5 The ordered pair could be (0,3.5) fixing it any opposite direction could supply an ordered pair of (14,0) question 3. -9z = 7(3+2w)+ -8w+17z+-11 first area of do is take away the + sign in the previous the minus indicators. (do no longer try this in case you have a +- in front on a pair of parenthesis) -9z = 7(3+2w)-8w+17z-11 -9z = 21+14w-8w+17z-11 (distinctive out by means of the parenthesis) -9z = 21-6w+17z-11 (combine the w variable) 0 = 21-6w+26z-11 (comebine the z variable) 0 = 26z-6w+10 (simplified) 26z-6w = -10 (simplified into an equation) 13z-3w = -5 (divide the entire equation by ability of two) – maximum folk will overlook this step. desire this facilitates.

y=5+3x

(1,8)

(x,y)

8=5+ (3 x 1)

so that is correct

y+4x-1 … um this one doesn’t have the equal sign x_X

but yeah, just replace it and if the x is beside the number, just multiply them

t=150+5m

the m is 12

so

t=150+ (5×12)

t=210
