Math Help: Is this solved correctly?

3x (2a-7) + 5y (2a-y)

= (3x+5y)(2a-7)

or

= (3x+5y) + (2a-7)

?

If the question reads 3x(2a-7)+5y(2a-7) (not ‘y’ like you have it), then the answer is (3x+5y)(2a-7)

Think of it like this. If it were 3x * a + 5y * a, you could factor out the a and get a (3x + 5y) This is the same thing, but instead of an a, you haave (2a – 7) in both places.
