Let x = the first integer. Therefore, the second odd integer is x+2, and the third odd integer is x+4.

2x (twice the first) + x+4 (the third) = 49

2x+x+4 = 49

3x+4 = 49

3x = 45

x = 15

The first integer is 15, the next odd integer is 17, and the third is 19.

let x be the first odd number

second= x+2

third= x+4

equation:

2x+x+4=49

solve:

add 2x and x

so

3x+4=49

to transpose 4 to the right side, cancel out 4 on the left by

minusing (not sure of the spelling) on both sides of the equation.

so

3x+4-4=49-4

3x=45

finally divide 3 on both sides to cancel out 3 on the left leaving us with x.

3x/3=45/3

so, x=15

15+2=17

15+4=19

check:

2(15)+19=49

49=49

it checks!!

therefore, the 3 consecutive odd integers are 15, 17 and 19.
