Math Extra credit question?

A child was born in Boston, Massachusetts, to parents who were also both born in Boston. The child was not automatically a United States citizen. How is this possible?

not sure what this had to do with math, but whatever.

Maybe the parents’ parents weren’t legal American citizens, making the parents illegal American citizens, making the child an illegal American citizen, too.

I don’t know… I hope you have luck getting the right answer to this pointless question (lol I sometimes wonder where teachers get these ideas…).

Under the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution, “all persons born or naturalized in the United States. . . are citizens of the United States.” Thus, by virtue of being born on US soil, the child is automatically a United States citizen, notwithstanding the citizenship of either parent.

The only exceptions that I can think of not automatically are possibly an embassy of another country, indian reservation, or a church….reason being is the embassies are extensions of other countries as with the church is vatican land…..

Thats the best I can do….Hopefully that helps…..

side note—-i like where the person who commented before was going with when they thought what about before the constitution exsisted…..boston , ma was still british

ok, there are 3 8 hour shifts throughout the time of the day and no elf is permitted to paintings extra advantageous than one shift. If there are 9,000 elves engaged on the comparable time, this means they are all component of the comparable shift, remarkable? If it fairly is actual than those 9,000 elves can’t paintings returned for the the remainder of the day because of the fact they are in elementary terms required one shift. So if there are 3 shifts and 9,000 are continually engaged on the comparable time, you’re able to mulitply 9,000 via 3 to get the full sort of elves working each and on a daily basis: 27,000 elves. Now if each and each elf desires cookies for the period of his injury, you merely multiply 27,000 via 2: fifty 4,000 cookies. So very final solutions: 27,000 guy or woman elves paintings on a daily basis. fifty 4,000 cookies are mandatory each and on a daily basis
