I think that history is one of the muddiest fields there is because, by definition, there’s nobody to cross-examine about what they said, did, or wrote.

However, it is essential to an understanding of the nature of civilization, and the nature of the forces that have brought about changes for good or ill in the past. Without such hindsight we could have no foresight.

I personally find history a waste of time. I think America would be better of if it was replaced with a math or science class.But knowing what happened in the past can sometimes inspire for the future.
