First, check your library website! Many libraries have reference/article databases available, like MagillOnLiterature, Literary Reference Center, Literary Resource Center, or Student Resource Center. Exactly what your library has will vary. You can also usually use these from home with your library card number. Most of these will have lots of reviews and critical analysis of titles like the Crucible.

A major problem with The Crucible is that most of the reviews are older and no one’s bothered to copy them on the web. That’s another reason your library’s going to be a good source for this. They’ll probably have a printed index of older book reviews, like Book Review Digest or Book Review Index. Still, if they have a good online tool that you can sign into, it might be easier than using the printed ones.

In fact, this link tells you where to find critiques of The Crucible in a number of print reference books produced by Gale, a major reference publisher. The reviews themselves will either be full articles or excerpts of articles from journals and magazines, usually written at about the time the original work was published. Your librarian can tell you exactly which reference book your library owns:

That said, if you absolutely need something free and online, you might find this useful:

Hope this is helpful!

I found this one literary review. Most reviews, it seems, are for the play. (need to remove all spaces from this link)

If you scroll down, you will see where Amazon’s reviewers have provided several lengthy reviews: (need to remove all spaces from this link)

Best wishes to you!
