i need some help on these algebra 2 word problems?

“two thirds of a box of cookies were chocolate chip. if there were x numbers of cookies in the box, how many were chocolate chip?”

the answer is 2/3x.. i just need someone to show me the work on how to get the answer.

the next one is..

“find the perimiter of a rectangular board whose length is 3 feet longer than the width. (p = 2l + 2w)”

the answer is 4w + 6.. again i just need someone to show me the work on how to get the answer.

Your answer should be 2x/3. You just have to “translate” the English words two thirds into the corresponding mathematical terms.

Let the width of the board be w feet, so the length will be (w+3) feet. The perimeter is the distance all the way round, so we have to add the lengths of the sides together:

w + w + (w + 3) + (w + 3) = 4w + 6.
