I would talk about our national anthem, which is the only anthem in the world devoted to a flag, not to a country or a country’s leader. And, you can further that by saying that in a country where we change leaders on a frequent basis (every 4-8 years) the flag represents a degree of continuity.

At the boy scout office–65 and e.sunshine is an excellent pamphlet about the care and history of the flag. What stripes (diff colors) and stars stand for, how to handle, different ceremonies (up one aisle,two aisles,never dip), how the flag is a symbol of us as U.S. Citizens and we should be reverent to that symbol for those who died for what it stands for and stand quietly during ceremonies, and we don’t put people in jail for burning the flag since it’s a symbol and not the honor of the U.S. itself, how to display the flag, and the care and final ceremony for the flag. I’ll keep an eye on this site “I need help on my essay.” How long must the essay be?

Were you given a specific title to use? If not I would come up with the title after you have written the paper. Honestly can’t help you too much because I don’t know what your topic has to be. Repost with a topic and I’m sure you’ll get a better response.
