If your asking what you can base your paper on with that title. There’s a lot. What about the bridge that collapsed in the mississippi river or the construction of the San Francisco Bridge, the most popular in the U.S. and one the most difficult to construct that caused many deaths in it’s construction. You have a very easy paper topic to write on than I do that’s for sure. Good luck to you!

Hmm…maybe this bridge can be have some special story behind it. Maybe a mysterious event could have taken place near/on the bridge and the main character can be very curious and suspicious.

As for the event, it depends on what suits you. The only idea I have in mind is something linked with death, because for some reason the title seems rather spooky [in my opinion]. Maybe you can talk about someone that tried to jump off the bridge.

I’m trying to think of what other things are called bridges. The only other thing I had was the bridge of a song. But I don’t know how you can turn that into a story.

Maybe you can turn the title “The Bridge” into the name of a band and tell a story about the band.

If you want, try not to base the story on your “typical bridge”- the thing that cars/people go over. Maybe you can surprise your teacher and go for something unexpected, which doesn’t literally link to an actual bridg- the thing that cars/people go over.

Yeah, I know my ideas are rubbish.

Haha.

This is an odd way to approach a writing assignment! Hmm, you could approach it literally by writing about a real bridge (collapse, building, what not) or something that happened in/around a bridge site (first love, historically, or a place that’s your own little slice of heaven). Or, you could really think outside the box and approach it as a “connection”; an essay on transition and stages in life.

The Bridge is a 2006 documentary film by Eric Steel that tells the stories of a handful of individuals who committed suicide at the Golden Gate Bridge in 2004. The film was inspired by an article entitled “Jumpers,” written by Tad Friend appearing in The New Yorker magazine in 2003.

Synopsis

The Bridge focuses on the large number of suicides that occur each year at the Golden Gate Bridge, capturing footage of the suicides and interviewing family members. Also interviewed are people who have attempted suicide at the bridge, and witnesses of the suicides.

The movie was shot with multiple cameras pointed at a notorious suicide spot on the bridge during 2004. It captured 19 people as they took their final plunge, and then offers interviews with grieving families.

Hope this helps 🙂

What about the bridge collapse in Minn. last year? Do an essay on one of the hero’s.

What about a paralel type story – using the bridge as a way to connect two people or places.

You could just write about our connections to other people, such as how much we know our neighbors now, compared to about 20 yrs ago. About something difficult you faced that you had to do reluctantly. Because it is said that life is a road, and roads are connected to bridges, you could just write about life and how we manage society. This could be paired with the first idea I gave.

What about a essay on bridges on how people depend on everyday on bridges and maybe talk about your hometown bridge as well.
