i have a electric smith corona spellmaster 700- each letter i type is different than the one i chose-how do i?

correct this problem? type letter A and it types X ect.press code and z key for demo, and it still types jibberish-no owner manual came with it. Does a code need to be entered? any help will be appreciated

Are you sure someone didn’t move the key caps around on you? I can’t imagine you would not have noticed… but strange things happen
