The note should be the honest truth of what happened and why you were not in school. If you were not in school because you ditched school, then you obviously will not have a note from a parent saying why you were not in school and therefor it will be marked against you as a truancy. Some states are now requiring students to make up truancies on Saturdays, or forcing students to attend summer school if they have a certain number of them. Any note that you take to school should be in your parents handwriting. You are better off having no note at all, than you are forging one, getting caught, and winding up with double the consequences.
