There is no rule. Some paragraphs have only one sentence, others may have twenty sentences. For the fourth grade, a good paragraph might have five or six sentences.

There is no set number of sentences that MUST be in a paragraph. However, if you want a developed paragraph I would suggest that you have a good topic sentence to indicate the main idea of your paragraph. Then have at least 5 or 6 sentences to develop and detail your ideas.
