There are five types of fossils. One type is a mold. A mold is a fossil imprint made by the out side of a dead plant or animal. Another fossil is a trace fossil. A trace fossil that shows changes that long-dead animals made in their surroundings. The next type is a cast. A cast is a fossil formed when sediments or minerals fill a mold; it takes on the same outside shaped the mold. Another kind is an amber fossil. An amber fossil is a fossil made of tree sap (amber). Amber catches all the organs and stuff. The last kind is a petrified fossil. A petrified fossil is tree fossilized turned to stone. Those are five types of fossils.
