How to site properly??

If you are supposed to site after every idea or information that you read from a book that wasn’t yours, how do you do that when you are writing a report based solely on the information in the book?? Using that logic, do you have to site after each and every sentence? For example I’m typing a report right now about tissues and tissue repair (for A&P), and I’m obviously getting 90% of my information from my text. It just seems weird to me to have to site every single thing in there…just a little confused. Help please? 🙂

You may cite in the paper or at the end. Lots of stuff here.

“When you borrow from a source several times in succession, you may be able to make your citations more concise by using one of the following techniques. However, always give your citations in full if these techniques would create ambiguity about your sources.

You may be able to combine citations in a single parenthesis after a sequence of borrowings:

Romeo and Juliet presents an opposition between two worlds: “the world of the everyday . . . and the world of romance.” Although the two lovers are part of the world of romance, their language of love nevertheless becomes “fully responsive to the tang of actuality” (Zender 138, 141).

Here it is clear that the first page number in the parenthesis”

When you do a report you have to have a thesis, your own idea based on your point of view, in the report. if you have a thesis then you won’t have to use so many phrases from the book. and phrase or bit of info that is most important just put that in there with the cited pages/person who said it. i normally get 98% on my reports and i would get 100 cept i make grammatical errors. lol idk if this helped any but good luck!
