f(x) = -4/7x +2 is pretty much the same as y = -4/7x+2

y-intercept form is y=mx + c

m = slope

c = y intercept

In this case m = -4/7 and c = 2

To solve for the x intercept, we have to reverse the equation, solve for x.

y = -4/7x + 2

y -2 = -4/7x

-7/4y + 7/2 = x

x = -7/4y + 7/2

x-intercept = 7/2 or 3.5

y-intercept = 2

You have to Separate each variable, then follow the rules of the equation PEMDAS. After you solve graph the equation. Where ever Y intersects with your X variable you solved for there is your answer.
