how dow i do standard deviation on a TI-84 plus.. give steps please.?

the question is based on date of the height of women to men in my class. but i’ll just post the womens height: 147,155,157,163,166,166,167,168,171,171,173,182. when i see this data what should i first look to do.. i don’t get what standard deviation does.. thanks everyone !!!
