how is omochi made?
i’m doing this japanese assignment for school and i’ve looked on the internet and it doesn’t really tell me how its made so i was hoping someone could tell me.

I think you mean ‘mochi’ or ‘mochitsuki.’ Think gooey rice cake. It’s made out of a really sticky rice (think really thickly gelatinous). You pound and grind (like with a pedastal and mortar) it into a thick paste, and then it’s molded into balls.
Actually, it’s so sticky, gooey, and thick, that people choke on it. People have actually died.
