How do you get through a boring and confusing book that you have to read for school?
Favorite Answer
1) Approach your parents/teachers for help.
2) Take down notes to make it easier to read.
3) Discuss with some of your friends more about the book to get a better understanding of it.
I hope this helps. Happy learning! 🙂
At the very least you’ll have a few laughs, and you all might gain some understanding of the story, especially if you all share your ideas about what is going on in the plot.
You might even act out some of the scenes…. this gives you a lot of insight into the characters, because when you have to say the dialogue, you have to put feeling into it, and think about the characters’ motivations.
Books set for school are usually chosen because they are considered fine and important literature. Quite a lot of people must have thought the book was interesting for it to be chosen. Try to find out why people thought so.
Why don’t you google the author’s name and find out about his or her life? Quite often their experiences, for example a war, have inspired them to write their books. Whatever it was, it certainly wasn’t boring for them, in fact it may have been terrifying or wildly exciting.
Usually we find books boring because we don’t understand what they are about. I think teachers should explain to their students what the book is about and why the author wrote it.
I hope this helps. I really enjoy reading and hope you do too!
if it’s a textbook, imagine that you are the one experiencing it or watching it happen right in front of you
that’s the only way i get through them
