3x + 5y = 7

-3x from both sides of the equation

5y= -3x + 7

divide both sides by 5

y= -3/5 x + 7/5

see this is sum algebra II **** otay:

3x=5y+7

-3x -3x ( Subtract 3x on both sides….)

5y=-3x+7

/5 /5 /5(Divide evertthing by 5….)

y=-3x + 7/5 (this is a fraction as well…)

/5 (this is supposed to be a fraction..)

so the answer is: y=-3x/5 +7/5

subtract 3x on both sides, so now its 5y=7-3x. divide everything by 5, and your answer is y=(7/5)-(3x/7)

Good Luck!

to solve for y, here are some clues:

place all the non-y’s on the right side of the “=” sign and all the y’s on the left side of the “=” sign, then simplify the y.. you get:

y = x + b
