BlackJack said it nicely. I’m 5’11” and I do wear heels, though they are the square kind. Also, I have a pair of dress heels that I don’t really wear. For me, dress heels and kids do not mix. I decided this on Easter a few years ago when my now four-year-old learned to walk and I was chasing her around our church basement in my shoes that I finally took off. (I tried wearing them to church a couple of weeks ago, but didn’t get out of the house. I put my flats on.) I’ve been as tall or taller than every body since I was 12 or 13. By the time I was 14 I had surpassed my mother’s 5’8″ of height. (Since she is taller than most women, I say she is on the short side of tall.) Usually, I stand and talk with my husband, who is just an inch shorter than me. Today, after church, I was talking with a couple of other women who were at least six inches shorter than me and I was, again, aware of my height. On the other hand, there are a couple of brothers in my church who are at least four inches taller than me in my heels. I like talking to them. (One of them is married to a woman who is taller than me and has a daughter who is 6’3″. The one time I met her, she was wearing two or three inch heels.) Be proud of the body God gave you. If God wanted you shorter, you would be shorter. Don’t hide it.
