How do I straighten a graph?

Ok I have a curve graph and I want to change it to a linear graph. What should I do with the numbers, divide them by 0.5 or something else?

I need more information, what is the equation being graphed?

What are you allowed to do to change the equation?

If the equation is a second degree polynomial such as:

y = x^2 + 2x +1

You could find its derivative – that would be a linear graph.

y ‘ = 2x +2

There really is no way to algebraically change a curve graph to a linear graph without changing its value. If you are looking for an equation that is linear, use the formula:

Y = mx +b where m is a constant and b is a constant

You could alter the x and y axis dimensions so that the graph looks linear, but this would not change the curve graph to a linear graph.
