How do I cite one book in-text?
I am writing a paper simply on one book so the only citation is the same book. But when I am writing in-text do I put something similar as:
blah blah blah blah (81).
As the page number of the book to cite something?
Also, does the period go after or before the (##)

You will put the “quote.”(p21 author name)
if not a quote, and just siteing words, then no quotes but the same.

It depends on which standard you are using: APA and MLA have different rules. Generally speaking you will use the format:
blah blah blah blah (Author 81).
The only time, that I am aware of, that you can omit the author, is if you mention his or her name in the text preceding the citation.
And the period goes after the parenthetical.
