You should add some details about grade level.

Very general: Through the mouth and nose to the throat to the lungs, which expand to take breath in and contract to expel used air.

Additionally, the lungs move oxygen – technically still “air” – to red blood cells which are then pumped into the heart and back through arteries in the body and then return, depleted of oxygen, back through the veins to the lungs, which then expels the waste “air,” carbon dioxide.
