how can i rebut that books are better than tv….?
Favorite Answer
While books can always describe people, places, events, etc. in great detail, TV actually takes us there. Before the invention of TV, people in the US would have no clue what the Great Wall of China looked like.
TV programs can provide a window into live action. Newspapers can report on an event the day after it happens. TV can give you a live window into the event itself, as it happens.
Finally, TV is an activity that can often be shared with family and friends. Sure it can be argued that books can be read out loud to a group of people, but let me ask you, how often do you read a book with friends vs. how often you watch TV with them?
I agree that books are the more intellectual and artistic form of media, but TV has it’s upsides too. The television was arguably the most important and influential invention of the 20th Century.
Hope this gets you started!
While you’re watching t.v. can be good fun, it isn’t doing anything to your brain.
