First take the difference between the y’s and divide it by the difference of the x’s.

y2-y1/x2-x1

Use 0 as y2 and 3 as y1, and 3 as x2 and 0 as x1. Plug them in and you should get 0-3/3-0, which equals -1.

The formula for the slope of a line traveling through (0,3) and (3,0) is

(Yi – Yo)/(Xi-Xo)

(3 – 0)/(0-3)

3/-3

-1
