History homework question about PETITIONS and BOYCOTTING?

I need a example on how petitons are still being used today (please list numerous exampled)

And please list examples on how boycotting is still being used today (numerous examples please)

most states allow for questions to be put on the ballot through petitions. California is probably the most notorious for this, with their ballot running several pages because of all the silly things they have to vote on. it even got rid of a governor that way

boycotts do not seem to have the same affect, at least in the USA, that they once had.

staying off the bus at one time could cripple a transit system. not buying lettuce helped the farm workers. boycotting Woolworth because of not serving lunch to certain people had an effect.

sometimes groups try to boycott a city, not holding conventions there, and telling there members not to go there on vacation, but they just seem to not have the power to control members, and membership is not powerful enough any more
