Help me with this probability question, please? And show how to get the result? :/?
Thank you. <3 The probability of getting the flue is 1/3. The probability of getting the plague if you have the flu is 3/5; if you do not have the flu, it is 2/5. Given that do not have the plague, what is the conditional probability that I do no have the flu? Could you explain how to get the result, if possible? :/ Thank you a bunch.
Favorite Answer
P(Fc) = 2/3 Prob of not getting flu
P(P|F) = 3/5 Prob of getting plague, given flu
P(P|Fc) = 2/5 Prob of getting plague, given no flu
P(Pc|Fc) = 3/5 Prob of not getting plague., given no flu
P(Fc|Pc) = ?
= P(Fc ∩ Pc) / P(Fc)
=[P(Fc)*P(Pc|Fc)] / P(Fc)
=P(Pc|Fc)
= 3/5
