shade below since its LESS THAN

shade above if it its GREATER THAN

if the problem is x<1 (vertical line) you would shade left if its LESS THAN shade right if its GREATER THAN if you forget or arent sure than choose a set of coordinates to see if its true if you plug it in ^_^

make a # line. put 0 in the middle, and go to -4 on one side and +4 on the other, put a open circle above 2, and draw a line with an arrow to the left.

y<----0--------1--------2----->

then shade in between 2 and y make sure the y is behing the arrow becuase

y can be anything less than 2 and make the 2 the farthest right number on the line

if you have y<2 you dont havef to shade it. but if you have y ≤ 2 you have to shade it in because of the little thing under the sign. < > you don’t shade

≤ ≥ you shade

use this thing, the alligator always eat the bigger number.

when the alligator point that 2<3 way its eating the two so you going where the alligator mouth is open

Everything less than two is incorporated into y.
